ASP P12 good baton with limitations
Well made, light weight product great for concealed/plain clothes use. Internal retention clip was too strong as delivered, but is easily adjustable. The retention/carry clip is plastic, so durability is unknown. A metal carry clip would certainly inspire more confidence. The diameter of the handle is smaller than the full size ASP batons, so getting a good grip is a little more difficult. The poor grip situation is exacerbated by the use of the carry clip, which would sit right in the middle of the grip area. This forces the user to grip around the clip and handle together, if the use of the clip is chosen....
But, overall, for the size and weight and quality, a good product.

ASP P12 lightweight baton
This is an excellent self defense tool with the only issues for me being that the clip should be more of a semi permanent style and that you must apply the right amount of lube for the baton to retract. It takes a trial and error period to figure it out.
A leverlock system might increase the price, but I would prefer it over this friction lock.
