Most Helpful Positive Review As good as Vortex Viper PST
I have a friend that has a Vortex Viper PST 5x25x50. We took it and my Anthlon Helos 6x24x50 out to the range for comparison testing. Box test, tall test, clarity of glass, repeatably and holding zero were all basically equal. Only major difference $569 although I got mine on sale at Optics Planet f...

Most Helpful Negative Review Several issues
I purchased this scope in February when optic arrived I mounted it on my savage fclp and headed to the range held zero and tracked well passed box test at 100 yards perfectly for $600 locking turrets and first focal plane with very decent glass I was pleased then I went to 200 yards scope performed ...

Good glass.....not so great service.

by CN, from UT, United States Written on July 8, 2020
When I first got this scope I noticed the bottom of the reticle didn't focus from the 30 hash mark down. I adjusted the diopler and parallax but couldn't get it clear. The rest of the reticle looked fine on any power setting. So I sent it back to Athlon and they said they adjusted the diopler and it was fine but expected to get fuzzy at higher power(at 24x you can't even see the bottom to use it) and that fell within their specs. I see the unclear parts from 6x to about 14x when it's at the bottom of view before it gets cut out by magnification. So they just sent back the scope with no help. Athlon doesn't really stand behind their product apparently, I won't be using anymore of their products from now on.

The best for your money

by Mike, from WI, United States Written on August 6, 2019
I have several Athlons now and they are way better than the V’s I’ve had. I was a V guy for years being from WI. I have had to many issues with the V’s and finally checked out some Athlon scopes and it was love at first look! Even there cheaper scopes out perform mid range V’s. There binos are awesome also. Very happy with all my Athlon products and you also try these great optics!
Pros:
  • Best glass for the price
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • Long range targets and hunting

Don't hesitate to order an Athon scope before going to a box store!

by Guest, from MI, United States Written on January 5, 2019
The first thing I noticed as I opened the box was Athlon had sent three batteries with the new Helos BTR. WTH, the guys know that we leave the power on to the illuminated reticles from time to time and are thinking of us first and foremost, sweet! As far as the scope goes, they know how to make a good quality scope for a decent price and pass the savings along to the customer. The Helos was optically centered as advertised and bolted up and shot on the first group centered on the vertical line without any adjustments; impressive! The glass is crystal clear and has pretty fine reticle lines and hold-over dots, even at full zoom. Great piece of gear for the price.
Pros:
  • Optically centered and ready to perform right out of the box.
Cons:
  • Doesn't come in hot pink camo version. JK

Athlon BTR

by Raul, from MO, United States Written on December 15, 2018
This is a great optic for the money, at first I was hesitant about getting this, I was worried about the quality for the price. But it’s right up with the vortex scopes imo. Mounted on my Ar10 and I have no complaints. I would highly recommend it. Definerlyt gets the job done without breaking the bank.
Pros:
  • Price

Don't let a couple of bad reviews scare you !!!

by fourstrings, Verified Owner from RI, United States Written on July 27, 2018
Out of all the good reviews I was nervous pulling trigger on this scope because of 2 bad reviews ! Then I thought about production of any product ,sometimes things happen and a bad piece goes out .I took a shot and ordered scope 6-24x50 and thought about warranty while waiting for delivery. When Athlon 6-24 x50 arrived I checked every nook and cranny on this scope and could NOT find a thing wrong, to my relief. Two days later I put it on two different rifles and it worked great on both ! So if your hesitant because of a couple of bad reviews. just pull the trigger and purchase this scope, it's well worth the money and then some !!!
Pros:
  • all around a good product
  • all around good product
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • target,hunting

Disappointed and opticsplanet

by Ron, from WV, United States Written on June 21, 2018
Scope lookek well felt good everything positive but found lent on inside lens called optics planet they had me send it back great customer service butt the one that sent me was worse than the first it had three Peace's of lent in side I had ask for them to check the new one before it was sent out but I guess the minute it would have took to done so was too long. So I called Athlon they suggested that I send it to them so I can get one that has no defects their customer service has been great. I'll let you know how it is when I receive it
Pros:
  • well made
Cons:
  • Lent in side on lens

dissappinted

by gunner, Verified Owner from PA, United States Written on June 9, 2018
Overall I was disappointed. Decent glass for the price however the turrets are terrible. They don't line up correctly and sometimes don't want to turn at all. Scope looses clarity after 15x. Hard to turn the illumination knob. Contacted Athlon about it and never heard from them.
Pros:
  • glass
Cons:
  • customer service is terrible
  • Turrent knobs have play
  • Turret adjustment not pronounced

Great scope

by Josh, from IN, United States Written on May 2, 2018
I ordered this scope because I wanted a front focal plane optic. I did a lot of research on ffp scopes and came across this scope. I’m very happy with my purchase. It is very clear, has a nice reticle, and the turrets have a nice feel to them. They have a very audible click each time you give them a turn. I was very happy with the performance at the range also. I will be looking at Athlon scopes for my future needs. Great product.
Pros:
  • Clear optics, nice illuminated reticle, great scope
Cons:
  • Wish it had a zero stop, but the locking turrets are great.
Best Used for:
  • Target practice, but would be great for hunting open land.

You get much more for the price!

by Varmit Sniper007, from OH, United States Written on March 16, 2018
Great scope for the money! At this price point you are getting what the competition is charging $800 - $1000 for. Front focal plane, illuminated reticle, parallax and comes with dust caps. Ultra clear glass and excellent tracking as well. You also can't go wrong upgrading from Athlon's Argos to this Helos! Only reason for a 4 star is due to the illuminated reticle not being visible in the first three settings at dusk/dark.

Great scope for $600

by Jamie, from KY, United States Written on December 22, 2017
I have tracked the scope, put it through several test and it performed great. I have it on a 6.5 creedmoor and I have shot out to 1000 yards. It works great. I can see the bullet strike. I can tell where it hits. The turrets have too much grease under them. Clean it with a q tip and they are very audible. Works fine for the money it’s a great scope. Don’t expect a nightforce scope for $600 bucks. But if your on a budget they work great.
Pros:
  • glass
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • Target shooting
