Most Helpful Positive Review The Real Deal
Just a short review of the Helos 8x34x56. Just wanted to let the shooters know that I have just started setting the scope up my Ruger M77 Hawkeye 300 win mag and this scope will be a winner. Ido f-class competition and the mil reticle is spot on. Just did some quick calculations with the reticle and...

8-35x56 Helos MOA

by Reggie Broen, Verified Owner from FL, United States Written on June 20, 2020
Attached this scope to a Ruger precision 556. And let me tell , I was highly impressed. Sighted in after 4 shots at 50yrds. The glass is very clear, and still clear at 100 yards at 28 x. The turrets turn audible and tight, and the pull up lock feature makes locking down the turret a snap. The only slight I can find on this scope is the eye box is a little tad small , but this is off set with great eye relief, you won’t be moving your head all over looking for a good sight picture. I’m no professional shooter but I do shot at least once or twice a week and for the money I’m more than happy and really impressed. The illumination I couldn’t see, but I was shooting in Florida bafternoon clear skies, didn’t need it, the moa crosshairs are perfect, FFp , my first scope to have this, took some getting used to, but at 100 I nailed sub moa 3 shot groups 4 timesstraight. I have this scope in Leupold one piece mount held perfect great buy from OP, like usual
Pros:
  • Clean ,crisp view
  • Built and finish
  • great tracking ability
  • sub moa accurate
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • Long range shooting
  • Hungting

Athlon 8-34×56

by Rick, from AZ, United States Written on January 20, 2019
I bought this for my wife to put on her .223 TC Compass. She said she couldn't see bullet holes at 100 ydd with my Leupold VX3 4.5-14×40. I have a Vortex Razor 4.5-27×56 and while not as nice it is a whole lot of scope for the money! The glass is a whiter light. Tracks great. Great scope for money and wife is happy as so am I as she didn't ask for mine.
Pros:
  • Clarity and magnification
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • Target and hunting
  • Target and medium long range

  • a little heavy

One great Scope

by Rainman, from TX, United States Written on August 20, 2018
Very clear optics with a high quality clean factory assembly. Not heavy in weight so it is manageable in field applications. Though it was originally intended to be used on one of my 308’s I’m either going to purchase an addition unit or go through the effort of interchanging it with another rifle until I decide. All and all I’d recommend this brand.
Pros:
  • Quality and light weight
Cons:
  • None

Great scope for the cost

by Ian, Verified Owner from TX, United States Written on June 8, 2018
Full disclosure- I did not mount this scope as I discovered it did not have the range of elevation that I needed on my platform for the distances I was going for. However, upon receipt I did open it up and inspect the item. Very clear glass even out to distances of several hundred yards both with and without the illumination. if it hadn't been for the elevation range, it would have been a great addition. I would recommend this scope to anyone shooting 1000 yards or less, both hunting and target.
Pros:
  • Clarity
  • Quality
  • cost
Cons:
  • range of elevation adjustment

Athlon Helos 8-34x56

by Chad Delozier, Verified Owner from OK, United States Written on March 15, 2018
Definitely becoming a Athlon fan. This is the 2nd Athlon scope I’ve purchased. It doesn’t have the amount of elevation some would like to have available, but suits my intended use. Very clear glass, like the holdover option, seems durable for hunting and range.

Awesome optics

by Travis, from TN, United States Written on March 15, 2018
This scope is amazing it is clear at a mile easy. The reticle is excellent. I'm looking forward to finding one for shorter range to put on my 308 for dear hunting. I havent been to the range with this scope yet but am looking forward to it. I expect it to hold zero no problem as the scope is well built. I will repost if there is any problems. Thanks Athlon
