This is a first focal plane optic, with illumination, a Christmas tree style reticle, mil mil reticle and turrets, exceptional glass for the money, 4x magnification ratio, and is one of the shortest, lightest rifle scopes of this magnification on the market, and with a legitimate lifetime warranty, from a company that is going to DEFINITELY be around to honor it. Vortex is the gold standard of CUSTOMER SERVICE in the Industry, but Athlon matches them in Warranty Terms and in Service. The illumination in this particular scope is no Trijicon, and thus not daylight bright. Illumination has its place, however, and to me, that's at night. The illumination is crisp and not overpowering in this role. The glass isn't on par with my NightForce SHV, but I'll put the glass in the same category with Vortex Viper PST Gen 1, SWFA and Weaver Tactical, but for HALF THE PRICE.
