We have yet to mount the optic. Reason this optic was chosen was KYL racks are shot at 100 and then 50 yards. This optic should allow you to see the 1/4 inch plate on the 50 yard rack. If adjustments are needed being a MOA turret allows 1/8 click adjustments at 100 and 1/16 inch adjustments at 50. Being a second focal scope keeps the retice small reguardless of magnification. Will the turrets track? If they do then this scope is worth way more than was paid. If they don't........
Pros:
- Second Focal Plane
- 1/8 moa adjustment

I picked up this scope hoping to find a less expensive option for PCP airgun precision benchrest at 30,40, 50 and 100 yards. Typically, I’m using Sightron SII and SIII fixed power scopes (36x and 45x). This Athlon does very well as far as glass clarity. I can see the texture of the paper on my targets at 50 yards. As far as resolution, details are very clear even at 40x magnification. I’m shooting a target with a .125 inch diameter 10-ring at 30, 40 and 50 yards. The center X on the target is a dot measuring 4/100 of an inch in diameter. For this type of precision benchrest shooting, I require a very thin reticle and very small center dot - and this scope meets that requirement. Thicker reticle might be easier to see, but would obscure my tiny targets. This Athlon 10-40x56 has plenty of elevation adjustment - which is important to accommodate the loopy trajectory of airguns, especially at 100 yards. I definitely recommend this as a good value scope for airgun benchrest out to 100 yards. I don’t shoot beyond 100, so my review is more for air rifle and .22 rimfire shooters. It also focuses down to 10 yards if that distance is important to you.

I couldn't have made a better purchase. I had to purchased a tall set of scope rings to mount the scope due to the 56mm bell needing to clear the barrel with the lens cover on. The 1/8 inch per click will help make any rifle with the right ammo more accurate.

This is my third scope of this model. I find the optics clear. Not $2000 clear, but given the powerful magnification quite clear. The scope has a very thin reticle (which I like). The newer models now come with a throw lever to easily change magnification. I wish I could add this to my 1st scope.
It also has an easy to set elevation stop.
This is powerful enough to see insects walking on a 100 yard target. But with that brings distortions at max magnification, especially on hot days.

Tha Athlon Argos 10-40 power scope functioned flawlessly. I had to remove the positive stop feature to allow zeroing on top of the 10 mil angle rail. The glass is equal to or better than most scopes in it's price range. The current clicks are audible and crisp. The small center dot works great for rimfire benchrest. I would recommend this product.
Pros:
- Clear glass, affordably priced, good warranty
Cons:
- You may have to remove the positive stop feature if used with mounting rails having 10 mil or 40 moa angle. If mentioned in the directions I overlooked

This is a great scope for the money. Let's compare.
#1 Vortex Golden Eagle. Cost 4 times as much and does have better glass. 4 times better? No Way.
#2 Vortex PST Gen2. Cost more than double. Better glass? Hard to tell and I have had them side to side.
#3 Leupold. Get real. There is no comparing the two. Leupold is in a class way above any of these scopes. Again 5 times the money.
I saw a review on Amazon that said it would not focus on 40x. That everything in front of the target and behind the target was blurry. Now I have only been shooting competition for 25 years. I have never owned an adjustable scope with the ability to do all that, and I own the Leupoled and Vortex Golden. You want a good scope at a better than fair price, this is the scope for you. I used it on my CZ 457 for F-Class .22 matches from 55 meters and 100 yards and it works great. NRL 22 from 15 yards to 100 yards and it worked great. I have it on my 6.5 creed out to 1000 and not an issue 1. If I was just starting I would buy this again in a heart beat. I only bought it because on of my high end scopes was being cleaned. That scope has been sitting on my bench for a few months now. It may never go back on any of my guns unless this one breaks or needs cleaned.
Pros:
- Price
- Quality
- .125 adjustment
Cons:
- I have not found one yet.

Such clarity. Such Brightness. Such a sharp reticle. Such a fine center dot. Easy to install and zero. The windage and elevation knobs are very positive and give good tactile feedback for the clicks. The zoom knob is a bit stiff, but I anticipate it should smooth out quickly with use. Same with the parallax adjust knob. If it doesn't smooth out - meh - easy to live with no problem as is. Very happy with this scope.

I put this scope on my anchutz match gun. It’s a scope that is well worth the money. I use it for shooting 50 yd match shooting. I wish it was a 50 power scope instead of a 40. But it does the job and that’s all I need
