BEST SCOPE AT ANY PRICE
If there ever was a time when you needed a scope that will allow you to reach out and touch someone, then look no further. And no...you don't need to spend a fortune on multi-coated lenses, zero stop turrets, MRAD reticles, or even FFP (First Focal Plane). This scope has it all for under $500.
No, it's not a Vortex Razor or even a Night Force. For the money though, you get nearly the same quality as these scopes which will set you back more than $2k! Yes, those are outstanding scopes and each have earned their reputation. Athlon is doing everything possible to earn the same reputation as both...

Affordable high power scope.
I initially got this scope with the intention of using it for hunting, but it’s too big and heavy and overpowered for the vast majority of hunting applications. I’ve put it on a precision 22 and it’s fantastic because it has enough zoom to be able to see the holes in the paper at 100 yards, and for that purpose, the weight is far less important or even beneficial.
Best Used for:
- precision shooting

Athlon Argos 8-34X56mm
I own four Athlon Argos 8-34X56mm scopes. I use them for NRL22 and ARA benchrest factory class. For the money I don't think you'll find a better scope. They are very bright and clear.

Great scope for its price point
This is my 2nd 8-34x56 Athlon scope and my 5th Athlon scope overall. I have the 8-34s mounted on a 6.5 Creed and a .308 and they have performed flawlessly, thus far. And, I'm confident they will honor the lifetime guarantee, should something happen to go bad.
Pros:
- guarantee
- Clear glass & Reticle
Cons:
- a little heavy, but so are my rifles
Best Used for:
- target/LR hunting

Great Optic With Outstanding Illumination
I own Vortex Viper, Arken, and Sig scopes. They are great options. The Athlon Argos BTR is a step above them, both in glass clarity and magnification. The illumination is also a step above the others as well (the Vortex does not offer illumination).
I've got about 300 rounds through this scope on a 308 Robinson Arms XCR-M, and it holds zero without issue. A great scope for the mid-tier price range.

Coyote hunter
I have this same scope on a rem 700 BDL. THIS SCOPE WAS ACTUALLY USED FOR THE FIRST TIME AFTER MOUNTING IT LAST FALL In a place called Rayners Range. I zeroed it at 100 yds, in 3 shots I went to the 400 yd range and shot 3 more ri ging steel all 3 times, then the same thing on 500, moved to 800 same thing. Then in 900 I ran out of lift for vertical mills, I took all I could get then added 2.5 more from the bottom side and went wide on the first from wind,(overestimated it) ½ mill less, 3 more pings, I was impressed! This was the first time I had ever had that rifle or any other at those longer distance 8 & 900 yds. Yes, I will own more of these scopes if not I will keep the ones I have. But as they do get replaced it will be with this brand for sure! 16 shot and 1 miss I will take any day! .300 win mag is not forgiving in recoil and caught myself starting to flinch and I stopped.
Pros:
- Tracking is to say the least very good on paper
Cons:
- Mine does have a spec on the glass inside but I can live with it the way I shot with it.
Best Used for:
- If I were shooting for money, perhaps I would go for better glass. But I am not convinced ....yet that I need it.!
