Athlon talos does not live up to its reputation - Athlon Optics Talos 6-24x50mm 1in Tube Rifle Scope, Second Focal Plane

I bought one of these and after mounting it on my rifle I discovered that it would not illuminate. Optics planet replaced it immediately. I just mounted the replacement on its permanent host, as I just received my custom barrel, and discovered that the cross hairs sit at about a 45 degree angle with the scope level in the mounts. The scope is very clear and sharp and I would really like to have one that functions.

One thing I do not like is that the protrusion on the bottom of the scope restricts its mounting to a two piece mount.
