Serious Reach in a Handheld Setup

by Austin Parker, from MO, United States Written on April 12, 2026
I’ve been running the BlazeTrek 325 lately, and what really stands out is how much distance you can cover with it compared to smaller handheld units. The 2.8–22x zoom gives you the ability to scan wide and then really zoom in without immediately losing the target, which has been a huge plus for me. The image stays steady with the 50Hz refresh rate, and I’ve had no issue tracking movement even when things are moving quick. It’s still compact enough to carry easily, but definitely feels like a step up in capability from entry-level monoculars. Overall, it’s been a solid performer when I need both reach and clarity in one device.

Compact Thermal Power for Serious Night Detection

by HpHunter, from MT, United States Written on March 5, 2026
The ATN BlazeTrek 325 Gen 6 Thermal Monocular is a compact and capable thermal device designed for hunters, landowners, and outdoor users who need reliable heat detection in a portable package. Built on ATN’s Gen 6 thermal platform, it features a 384×288 sensor with a 12-micron pixel pitch and a smooth 50 Hz refresh rate, providing clear thermal contrast and fluid motion when scanning fields or tracking moving animals. In real-world use, the unit performs well as a handheld spotter, allowing users to detect heat signatures at long distances—often over a thousand yards for larger targets—while still being small enough to carry comfortably for extended periods. The monocular also includes useful modern features such as built-in photo and video recording, Wi-Fi connectivity for streaming to a mobile device, and multiple color palettes like White Hot and Black Hot to optimize viewing in different environments. Weighing under a pound and protected with an IP67 weather rating, it is rugged enough for harsh outdoor conditions while remaining easy to pack or keep on a chest rig. Image quality is strong for a 384-resolution thermal, though higher-end 640-sensor units will offer sharper detail at longer identification distances, and heavy digital zoom can reduce clarity. Overall, the BlazeTrek 325 Gen 6 delivers a solid balance of performance, portability, and modern features, making it a practical mid-range thermal monocular for scanning fields, spotting game, and nighttime observatio...
