Most Helpful Positive Review I must have for your xsight
This item is a must have for your atn xsight 2. There really is no reason to use the AA batteries when you get this thing. It works just as you would expect. There are 2 things that are kind of annoying, and it's just me nitpicking. 1. The pouch was some what challenging to fir on a magpul prs but ...

Most Helpful Negative Review A lot of money for a "Very" cheap battery!
ATN will ONLY sell you this "Buttstock Pouch" with the battery. I looked up the battery which is available on "Amazon", for $11 including shipping. MUCH better batteries of this same type and size are available for $30-$40 which also include integrated indicator lights and digital power metering sho...

Needs to be ambidextrous

by Russell, Verified Owner from LA, United States Written on October 4, 2025
Bought it thinking "it's 2025...this should be adaptable to left hand". Nope. If it is, the instructions would say how to do it....oh wait....there are no instructions. So if you like to figure out puzzles from the pics, this is for you! The battery works fine, but the cord is not coiled as seen in the pics either. It's just a regular Amazon cord, like the battery.

Strong Battery

Hopefully will never actually need to use this in a hunting scenario. But if I do it is excellent to have, never have to worry about running out of battery for the scope!

battery pack

by Jaharless, Verified Owner from VA, United States Written on February 13, 2024
Having just got the battery pack for a backup power supply i haven't used it yet. The only thing that i don't like is it's bigger than i thought and heavier. I think it is going to add a lot of weight to the rifle that it is on

Great option for extended reserve power with some definite design flaws/drawbacks

by misterg, Verified Owner from WI, United States Written on February 3, 2024
I bought this for my Thor 5 640 thermal scope, particularly to extend battery life when it's cold, which it tends to be during deer season. The biggest drawback with this is that the pouch doesn't have a grommet to pass the charging cable through, which makes getting the battery into the pack difficult due to the tight fit. The kit I bought didn't come with a coiled cable like the image in this product description shows, but I have plenty of shorter cables that work just fine. The round passthrough rubber grommet doesn't fit the Thor 5, it would have been nice at the price point for this to include grommets that work for their latest line of thermal scopes. The best thing is that the kit I received has USB-C on the battery pack, which can be used to charge the pack and scope. The 20,000 mAH battery has plenty of capacity to add additional operational time to the Thor 5's already good battery life. Took a little bit of playing around with the straps to get it to fit on the Magpul Hunter stock with a mid-height cheek riser, but it will do the trick. For what it is, it's a little expensive, a guy could get a generic 20,000 mAH pack for a quarter of the price and keep it in a jacket pocket just as easily, I suppose.

An amalgamation of parts.

by Steve, Verified Owner from WI, United States Written on January 1, 2024
The buttstock case was designed as an auxiliary ammo carrier and is sold under other brands as such. This in itself is not a problem.
The problem comes in when you try to put the battery in said case. Simply put, it doesn't fit. The case is tapered and the battery is rectangular. The picture is deceptive. There is no way to put the battery in the case and close the case. Another issue with the battery is its weight. Weighing in at 15.52 ounces adding just short of a pound to your project. It might not be much of an issue as you're going to have to carry the battery in your pocket anyway. Maybe that's why the cord which comes with it is 60 inches long. If it did fit in the case/ammo carrier a person would have to try and contend with the other 4 feet that is just hanging around. This is the second time I've purchased an ATN product and the second time I've been disappointed.
Pros:
  • None
Cons:
  • not as portrayed
Best Used for:
  • Paperweight
