First night vision purchase...

by Legacy Reviewer, from WI, United States Written on March 15, 2012
These ATN binoculars were my first night vision purchase, so I wasn't entirely sure what to expect. I found them to be very easy and intuitive to set up and use and the directions were quite straightforward.

The image you get looking through the binoculars is noticeably grainy, but completely usable out to about 75 yards in extreme darkness. Any ambient light expands that limit to around 125 yards. I use these for scanning for animals in the woods at night and they've been great for that purpose.

I'd hoped for a slightly crisper image and a little more range, but I think that requires a leap in price to the higher-generation models. Overall, I'm quite satisfied with these.

ATN Night Raven-CGT

by Legacy Reviewer, from WA, United States Written on June 23, 2011
I was looking for a night vision binocular for my father that would fit him perfectly for wild life observation. My choice was Voyager 5 but Night Raven looked more conventional so my father preferred this model. We also ordered Camera adapter and IR450 to it. As for IR450 my father is satisfied with performance but it turned out that some animals can see this infra red beam at night and their first reaction is to flee.
