Really good

by Zak, from WI, United States Written on February 12, 2025
The tube itself is amazing for what you pay. It is chinese mystery meat, I believe an NNVT4 tube. Not too noisy and plenty clear for moving and shooting. It does excellent up until total blackout so you'll need an auxiliary IR when its cloudy. Even with only stars and no moon this will be fine. The mounting system is absolute garbage. The little dovetail thing is horrendous. I ended up loctiting the adapter in because I have zero intention of removing it. I set it to where it works with my helmet and forgot it even comes off. It will get loose if you dont loctite the stupid little clamp. The flip up mount is OK i guess. I ended up using a surplus Norotos rhino and that's infinitely better and tighter than the one it ships with. Looks like a chinese clone of a rhino 2. All in all shakey garbage. So basically the unit itself is excellent but the kit it comes with is useless. If you like Biocular NVGs this is a win. The guys I shoot with could tell it was 2nd gen but they were all surprised with how good it actually was. I'd never used 2nd gen before and wanted a spare to bring another guy along, and to have a workhorse to save my good PVS14. Now I rarely use my 14 as this is mostly what I take unless it's absolutely pitch black. Hope this helps someone.
Pros:
  • Excellent gain, usable resolution
Cons:
  • Mounting system is horrendous
