Gary Kilpatrick's Review of ATN ThOR-HD 1.25-5x Thermal Smart HD Rifle Scope w/WiFi, GPS
I was expecting a easy to zero/accurate thermal sight. I was using a SCAR 16s with PMC X-Tac 62 grn 556 ammo. I input ballistics and distance prior to shooting it. I used hand warmers as TGTs. There wasn't a manual so I had to go to the internet ATN web site for instructions. I got a zero finally and saved it, then when I confirmed it, I was 4 inchs off. The scope went out of FOCUS every round fired. All shots were fired from a bench rest. I decided to move to the 100 yd line. I used a bench rest, 2 hand warmers (one for the tgt and one for the shot group to make sighting in easier). MY SCAR has a Timmney trigger, and will fire 1-2 MOA all day at 100yds. The ATN shot goups at 100yds looked like buckshot fired at 100yds. Once I got close to the target I saved the data. And when I confirmed zero I was 2 foot low and 9 inchs left. Each shot required you to re focus the optics. I gave up after firing 200+ rounds trying to zero it.
