Super training aid, and intensifys training time

Written on Nov 25, 2017

The target is very easy to assemble, and is light enough to carry for short distances. It reminds me of a old video game I loved called Hogan's alley. The target gives you a myriad of choices, bad guy, good guy with camera and a middle no- target presentation. What I think is the coolest is the random single user mode. It allows me to set the pivotal target
on automatic and displays the targets with preset delay times (including holstered). About 3-5 minutes of intense shoot/no shoot and I have to take a break. Long guns are just as fun. I have knocked seconds off my draw time, and it forces you to look at hands, which could keep you out of jail. Dry fire training allows you to practice your draw and fire.

I live in the country and retired (21 yrs) infantry with 5 + years in the 75th Ranger regiment. I have trained with the pivotal trainer now for 2 weeks with my Glock 17 and Tavor and have added weapon transitions.
REMEMBER: Fast is slow and slow/smooth is Fast.

NEAT SOLUTION TO MOUNTING SUB 2000 RED DOTS

Written on Jun 15, 2017

I bought it for my son's SUB 2000. The reviews seemed good on youtube, but I was still worried about return to zero. My son was very impressed with it, so I thought I would pass on a note saying it was a cool way to store it folded and still have red dot capabilities when unfolded. Supposedly it will not work with aimpoint, or other reddots with a similar mounting set up. Primary arms red dot fits it well, so if Your considering buying one, I would check with MI for compatible sights prior to buying one.

unreliable!

Written on Jun 12, 2017

I was expecting a easy to zero/accurate thermal sight. I was using a SCAR 16s with PMC X-Tac 62 grn 556 ammo. I input ballistics and distance prior to shooting it. I used hand warmers as TGTs. There wasn't a manual so I had to go to the internet ATN web site for instructions. I got a zero finally and saved it, then when I confirmed it, I was 4 inchs off. The scope went out of FOCUS every round fired. All shots were fired from a bench rest. I decided to move to the 100 yd line. I used a bench rest, 2 hand warmers (one for the tgt and one for the shot group to make sighting in easier). MY SCAR has a Timmney trigger, and will fire 1-2 MOA all day at 100yds. The ATN shot goups at 100yds looked like buckshot fired at 100yds. Once I got close to the target I saved the data. And when I confirmed zero I was 2 foot low and 9 inchs left. Each shot required you to re focus the optics. I gave up after firing 200+ rounds trying to zero it.
My background 21 years infantry, 6 years in 1st an 3d Ranger Battalions. 2 semesters Murray State college NRA gunsmithing classes which included 80 hrs of ar15 armorer and accurizing AR 15.
