Dave's Review of ATN TICO Eyepiece
I wish I could post images of this eyepiece....All machined aluminum construction with a great finish. Made by Crusan
Dimensions: 76mm (3") long (including the removable rubber diopter eyepiece surround) by 32.5mm (1.3") diameter with a 62mm (2.4") quick-detach base.
The eyepiece has a knurled diopter focus ring that works independently of the thermal scope's objective lens focuser (which is interesting to me). The end result is that you really can achieve more fine focus at a variety of different mag powers.
The eyepiece is actually two pieces - the base screws on (you will want this one to be very tightly screwed on) to the monocular's threads (35mm?). Then you simply twist lock (like a RG58/SDI cable click/twist-lock system) the eyepiece on to its base for very quick/connect/disconnection to a monocular system. Note that the eyepiece's base has three set screws that you can loosen in order to rotate the eyepiece to the orientation that suits you when in monocular mode. Once set, tighten them down snuggly. I placed a heavy duty lanyard on my eyepiece (it has what appears to be a lanyard loop but since there are no instructions in the box...) for my use in monocular mode and it works great, so far.
Performance - it really works great as a monocular with this eyepiece, and this eyepiece has a base magnification of 2.5x so it actually turns your TICO-LTV into a 2.5x /5x / 10x (instead of 1x / 2x / 4x) thermal scope which is pretty fantastic.
