Dusty's Review of ATN X-Sight 4K Pro Edition 5-20x70mm Smart HD 30mm Tube Day/Night Rifle Scope

This scope receives 5 stars because of the price.im gonna start off talkin about my shooting arsenal so you can understand why you might want this optic.1 i have a ar10 with a burris eliminator for long range if need be and all animals are in trouble whith in 600 yards(I don't shoot animals farther than this do to wind) BUT i CANT SEE THEM AT NIGHT.2 I have a high end 6/24 flir thermal on a browning bar all animals within 500 yards day or night are in touble BUT FIELD OF VIEW IS SMALL IN CLOSE RANGES AND I CANT SEE HORNS ON DEER.3 I HAVE A THERMAL THOR 4 3/6 ON a remington 700 FIELD OF VIEW ON A 3 POWER OPTIC IS MUCH BETTER UP CLOSE BUT SHOOTING OUTSIDE 100 YARDS IS NOT A GOOD IDEA IT CANT IDENTIFY ANIMALS THAT WELL AT ANY KIND OF LONG RANGES AND I CANT SEE HORNS THIS OPTIC IS FOR CLOSE RANGES AND IS MUCH BETTER USED AS A ANIMAL SPOTTER.4 And now I have a atn 4k pro 5/20 on a ar 7.62/39.HERE WE GO The image you get is not as clear as glass but is plenty good enough for all shooting applications.when usings a digital image scope you also dont have to be as concerned about being to close to far away to to right or to left when looking in the scope which really helps inexperienced hunters The biggest advantage this scope has over all the others is the ability to see a bucks horns in low light.when buck hunting, the last half hour in a evening and the first half hour in the morning hunt can be critical.when your in the deep woods the lighting is way less then when in an open field. You can gain more shooting time .sometimes up to 20 minutes.I have passed on so many deer over the years in low light because I can't determine if the buck is a shooter.seeing horns is one thing but being able to score the deer is another idea completely.I have also been able to use this optic to pattern big bucks at night so I know where to set up in the next hunt.i do not suggest using this optic by itself when night hunting unless your in a low grass field.A thermal is a much better option to see the animal.when using night vision The eyes of the animal light up to help with recognition but in the woods it's way more difficult. If you are night hunting and can afford even a lower end thermal like Thor 4 YOU SHOULD BUY A THERMAL.It is so much easier to spot and identify animals quickly especially in woods and tall grass.I would only choose this optic over a thermal because you want to see the animal not a heat image(night vision is a more personal experience with the animal in my opinion) or cause you are trying to see horns on deer in low light(thermals do NOT LET YOU SEE HORNS WELL IF THEIR NOT IN VELVET).I put a armasight watchman ir unit(you can adjust the beam for longer range shooting and different levels of light) on my ar instead of using the provided ir light.HONEST TRUTH in a field at night mid size game can be taken at 250 yards. Anything more is not reasonable for ethics hunting!small game 150 yards is pushing it.When in the woods 100 yards or so is about max there's to much light reflection from the ir bouncing off limbs n trees to be ethically confident.DAYTIME SHOOTING if you are a good enough SHOT 400 yards on mid size game is realistic and 250 yards for small game. These numbers are coming from a hunter sitting on the ground that can shoot sub moa at 100 yards not prone shooting which is pointless where I hunt.CONS the things you've probably seen and read are true this optic has issues. The compass works sometimes but not always however I'm pretty sure the animal or I don't care what direction I'm shooting in lol.For whatever reason this thing freezes alot when I first turn it on. I leave it on freeze mode for 30 sec hold the off button for 15 seconds or so till it shuts off. Wait 20 sec or so then turn back on n it works eveytime.weird. almost like it needs to warm up.After that it works like a charm till I'm done hunting.DO NOT TURN SCOPE OFF AT ANY TIME WHILE HUNTING THERES NO NEED THIS BATTERY IS AMAZING YOU ARE NOT GOING TO KILL IT.THERES NO NEED TO SAVE BATTERY LIFE.this is a 5/20 optic that I have.Quite frankly anything over 10 power is pointless the optic is to picsulated.HUNT HARD AND GOD BLESS AMERICA AND MAY YOUR AIM BE TRUE...HOPE THIS HELPS
