It's come a long way! - ATN X-Sight Night Vision Rifle Scope 5-18x DGWSXS518A

I first looked at the x-sight back when shops were offering it for pre-order but chickened out on placing such a pre-order. I'd have to say that was a wise decision as the people I communicated with who did get one of the first units were very disillusioned 1) with ATN's responsiveness and time to market with the scope, and 2) with the performance of the scope once they finally got it. That said, the latest version of the scope and its firmware is very good. It is rather heavy and one thing I'd like to see is a better Quick Release style mounting base for it (something that I've learned may be coming soon in the aftermarket). it's not GEN3+ night vision, but for $4-500 it's a very good unit that has some very unique features. There is also a very helpful user's group on Facebook that I would encourage anyone who buys one of these or the 3-12x versions to join.
