I was excited for a authentic Russian sight
I was excited for a authentic Russian sight for my AK-104, but was let down with this sight. The lens is not centered properly. I had to remove a bunch of screws so I could add a washer to get the reticle to a place where it might be able to be sighted in. There’s no English directions for adjusting...

Deceitful/Shouldn't be on a real firearm's optic website
I took this to my buddy's range to zero and got a malfunction, had to mortar my rifle to clear, got set up again, and I see my reticle has jumped way up and left from where I had it dialed in. It completely broke the optic and it's been sitting in my junk cabinet for a long time, I just use it for pics. For the price it's ridiculous and Optics Planet shouldn't sell such garbage with their names attached imo.
Pros:
- Aesthetic
Cons:
- Trash, wouldn't even trust it on an airsoft gun.
Best Used for:
- Pictures

i highly so not recomend
So I bought despite the other bad reviews it looks and has the same functions as what’s intended but upon adjusting broke the adjustment tool lucky I had another tool that fit the Sam slots but to no end ended up stripping out the adjustment knobs and it never even got close to the bore sight dot when attempting to adjust. Not to mention that when turning the knobs looks as if the reticle itself barley moved. I would recommend but a railed side mount and using a American optic. And there are no English instructions.
Pros:
- Looks authentic
Cons:
- no installation instructions
- Unadjustable
- Cheap and brittle
Best Used for:
- wall mount, display only
- Airsoft & larping,

If your into AKs it’s worth it.
Hold reticule selection down for on/off no need to pull batteries. Holds zero fine but is more complicated to zero. Mounts tight and holds up to abuse. It’s no eotech and it’s not worth comparing them but it’s a good optic if you know what you are getting into.
Pros:
- cool
- works
- Looks
- russia
Cons:
- Gotta learn russian
- Makes you play it russian hardbass
- Blue tint
- haters gonna hate
Best Used for:
- A sight for an AK
Would recommend: Yes
Range toys
These are NOT up to duty standards. They are 1 step above airsoft. I do not believe these are actual Russian Army manufactured, I believe these are just manufactured for the American wanna-be fantasy market.
Pros:
- clear glass
- locks solid
- bright ret
Cons:
- poor assembly
- might need repair OTTB
Best Used for:
- Airsoft
- range toy
- Wall Hanging

Nice authentic optic
I purchased this for use with my wasr-10 v2. The optic fits the side mount beautifully and is very easy to install/remove. After 400 rounds, the zero is still holding nicely. The optic itself feels very sturdy and, having recently shot in the rain, I can attest to it's water resistance. This listing is missing some info as well so here it is: the instructions are entirely in russian, so you will have to find an english version of the manual on the web. (There is more than one model of kobra so be sure to find the right manual). This model of kobra DOES come with the rubber sun shroud(some do not) and it is affixed in place by two small screws. And finally, the sight can be powered on/off by holding the reticule change button for roughly ~5 seconds. Overall very pleased with this optic.
Pros:
- Sturdy construction, reticule variety, easy mounting and zeroing, classic RU look. Carrying case is nice quality.
Cons:
- Battery life just OK. No english manual.
Best Used for:
- Any AK pattern rifle with side mount
Would recommend: Yes
terrible quality
The elevation screw and adjustment tool broke during adjustment. The optic seems to be cheaply made so listen to the other 1 star reviews. They are right.... Now I'm not sure if I ever want to attempt this this again with a different optic.
Pros:
- Looks cool
Cons:
- inaccurate
- fragile
Best Used for:
- nothing - do not buy
Would recommend: No
Not worth $400+
I bought this sight, expecting the greatest quality for an AKM for the price tag, was a little annoyed there was no on/off switch, which wasn’t a big issue. Then I figured out the battery has to go in backwards, which was also fine. What annoyed me most is the laser protruding the sight, was heavily off center, and crooked to about 8-15 degrees to the left and it is not centered what so ever. Even going and adjusting it to the maximum adjustment, it was still wickedly high and to the left.
Pros:
- Adjusting brightness with many settings
- firm rail / sight
- Four different reticles
Cons:
- Battery is hard to find
- is not any bit centered
- Adjustments didnt help
- price tag is high
- Clearly not checked for quality
Best Used for:
- AKM

Nice eastern optic for an AKM.
I purchased this holographic because I wanted to get an Eastern optic for my first AKM. It fits the rifle like a glove. It’s very nice and light as well. The glass is good quality and although this optic costs a little more than what one might want to pay for it you are getting a very unique Russian AK optic that are not commonly found. The upside down chevron and red dot is my favorite optic setup and I do believe this is optimal for 7.62 x 39 zeroed in at 100 meters, properly. Getting the adjustment for wind age and elevation is a little different at first but you will get the hang of it. If you have an AKM and want a nice eastern optic I highly recommend this Kobra. I am not unhappy one bit and I do think it looks very clean on my rifle.
Pros:
- Very light
- One piece mount and optic
- fits the AKM like a glove
- rarer Russian optic
- 4 different shape options
- 7.62 x 39, upside down chevron and dot shape is OP Russian
Cons:
- Battery Life
- windage and elevation knobs could be a bit better
- laser eye surgery on bright
Best Used for:
- any AKM based rifle
- being super eastern
- staying true to the AK platform.
