It's much slimmer than I was expecting. And very sturdy when installed. I would recommend this product.

Not even sure how this one passed B5 muster esp since all my other furnature on all my AR platforms is B5 Systems since they make awesome products. IF you want to upgrade from stock carbine HG with little or no intentions of adding any furnature to the forend then its a five star piece. C grip is so much easier. Thinner has its consequensce. The heat shield on bottom precludes abilty to add Magpul M-lok QD mount near the front. It deforms the heat sheild then creates a huge gap between upper and lower pieces. The 12 O'clock rearward M-lok slots are right up against the gas tube, ( Right up against it!) so those cant be used either. Plastic is not strong. Again, its great until you want to add stuff to it. Has a shape reminiscent of a PTR-91. Wish it were better made and just a bit broader to accomodate M-lok nuts...The Magpul version of this guard has nothing at the 12 O'clock!! Not even M-lok slots so I had hoped this was to be my solution w/o having to add a drop in full rail system.....oh well.

I ordered this to add a rail to top so I can mount the clip-on thermal in front of the LPVO scope. Well, to my surprise, this smaller than usual hand guard doesn't allow for a top rail even tho it states 6 different positions. Only 5 and the one I needed is blocked by the gas tube because there is NO room for the screws to mount the rail even if you grind them down. At one point the tube looks like it is touching the guard. It's still a nice hand guard but I can't use it for it's intended purpose which is extra annoying since I waited nearly 4 mos for it.

My first review of this item was before I tried to install it. The front slots that align with the handguard cap are way too big. Nearly twice the width of a standard handguard. The casting/milling on the slots is horrendous. The rest of the handguard is fine, but somebody dropped the ball on the slots. The slots are what keeps the handguard from rotating. With too wide of a slot, guess what? The handguard rotates.

I love this handguard and will probably be buying more. Slim design, M-Lok all the way around, hand stop and light weight. What more could you ask for? The weight is actually a little lighter than standard CAR handguards. Fit and finish are perfect.
