for some reason the manufacturers decided to design snaps that are placed directly between your shoulder blades where they're completely unusable by normal humans. also they made the binocular straps in front out of a very thin elastic band. so when you hang heavy binoculars on them they tend to sag down and bounce off of parts that you don't want heavy binoculars bouncing off of... the thick wide shoulder straps are extremely comfortable and make carrying a heavy set of binoculars nice.my guess is the manufacturer is from a country that has never used the product and has no idea what it used for.
