I started by buying the factory loaded Barnes and Federal ammo with this bullet with the intent of reloading if satisfied. These bullets are designed for deep penetration and known for their accuracy. Qualities I was looking for in a round meant for protection against 4 legged Critters . Shooting out of a 3" revolver I obtained two inch groups at 25 yards so I bought the bullets and tested different loads based on Barnes data. I started light and worked up. First loads were dismal but as charge increased groups improved. I assume this is due to the long design of this bullet. Anyway, I am not yet at max loads and my last group was under two inches at 25 yards.
