i did a 3 way buy of .300Bo ammo for hunting, all 3 were shot from a 'PSA 16" 1/8 twist barrel', here's my results at 100yd: 1.Barnes Vor-Tx 110gr TAC-TX FB #21548 - [most accurate, sub MOA] 2.Hornady BLACK 110Gr V-MAX #80873 - [a bit less than accurate than TAC, at 1 MOA] 3.Sig Elite 120gr OTM #E300H1-20 - [least accurate, at +1 MOA]

A Tale of Two Bullets

by HogDown, from FL, United States Written on February 15, 2024
Deer #1 was taken with 194 grn LD Maximum Expansion, suppressed .300 BLK, double lung shot. Found the bullet, after pass through, laying on the oakleaves - just a beautiful pedaled flower, 100% weight retained. Deer made it 30 meters and dropped. Deer #2 was taken with 194 grn LD Maximum Expansion, suppressed .300 BLK, double lung shot. Didn't recover this bullet. Deer made it 25 meters and dropped. Deer #3 was taken with Barnes 110 grn TAC TX FB, unsuppressed .300 BLK, double lung shot. Bullet was not recovered, deer was Dead Right There.
Pros:
  • Dead Right There
Cons:
  • Kind of expensive - but worth it
Best Used for:
  • DRT takedown
