Great telescope for beginner - Barska Starwatcher 50mmx600mm PH Refractor Telescope

We purchased this for my 8 year old daughter who is very interested in looking at the night sky. It is great, works well, is easy to use. My only complaints are the following: It really didnt come with instructions, so you will need a companion book to help you find stars and really get the most out of your telescope and the tri-pod is very flimsy, one of the legs snapped off ours on the 2nd day. We were able to glue it, but we will have to purchase a sturdier one once the weather gets warm and she is in the backyard using it nightly.
Pros: Perfect for beginners, easy to use
Cons: directions were lacking, flimsy tri-pod
