Most Helpful Negative Review Manufacturer's Packaging
The scope is not shipped in anything other than a flimsy cardboard box with flap end. Mine came shipped with other items and the scope box was crushed. There is no internal foam or even bubble-wrap to pad the scope inside the manufactuer's original box. The scope is fine - although I would have been happier with an adjustable 1x or 2x to 4x option. Cons: Flimsy Cardboard Packaging - no interior cushioning, styrofoam for shipping

Decent for the sale price

by Jeremy N, from WI, United States Written on March 4, 2015
I got this Barska on sale. It came came in a thin cardboard box (as noted by others) with the manual, warranty card, lens cleaner, and Allen wrench for mounting it on your rail.

Pros: I love the illuminated reticle with the dual colors and adjustable intensities (I used green in sunlight and red in darker environs). I didn't need any risers or anything for proper eye alignment. It has built-in rails on the top and sides for mounting accessories like a laser, etc. in my case I threw a mini red dot on top and the scope held it with no issues. The battery also seemed to last longer than I expected for a scope of this price.

Cons: It's a fixed 4 power scope. This isn't really a con since it's not a surprise (it says it right in the title), and it's exactly what I wanted at the time. The biggest problem is there's no real room for error in the eye relief. Half an inch too far and I couldn't utilize the sight as I needed to. If you have longer arms (or run an adjustable stock at extension) this won't work for you. It was useless on my Mini-14 at home AND my flat top AR in the field when I ran my stock at any length other than the closed position.

Overall, I think this is a great scope for the price I paid for it. If I had paid even OpticsPlanet's price, I probably would've been pretty upset and tried to return it over the eye relief issue alone. But it stayed mounted without variance or movement, was easy to adjust for wind age and distance with my multitool, and ...

Bad Barska product quality

by Legacy Reviewer, from OR, United States Written on August 17, 2012
I put this scope on my AR15 flat top. I never could get it to hold a zero, but finally the front lens just fell over. There is no way to get it out of the housing. I tried to contact Barska several times by phone and email to see if this was repairable. I never got any kind of response. As far as I'm concerned, Barska products are junk. I have learned my lesson. My next scope will cost more and be from a reputable manufacturer.
Pros: Fit top rail well. Finish looked good
Cons: Poorly made, NO customer service

An average 4x scope

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from NE, United States Written on August 13, 2009
The scope is fixed. It would have been helpful to be able to dial the 4x back to 2x or one.
Pros: multiple rail attachment locations
Cons: heavy, fixed magnification
