I purchased a cheaper Barska for a .17 hmr a couple years ago with pretty good results. I decided to buy one of their higher end models assuming that their good value would scale up but I was wrong. I got this scope to put on a new AR-10 I had just gotten, and the first time I held the scope I could tell it was junk. Right out of the box, the windage and elevation knobs were floppy and loose with Terrible adjustment clicks, and it only got worse. The scope couldn't hold a zero for the life of it, and I know a .308 has a kick, but that's no excuse for a scope that size in that price range. Then not long after I had it condensation droplets formed on the inside of the glass and I couldn't get rid of them. then to top it all off, I thought maybe it wasn't mounted secure enough, causing its inability to stay zeroed, so I went to torque the rail clamps some more and one of the clamp bolts snapped right in half with very little torque and now i'm out $400. The picture trough the scope at anything above 18x zoom was uselessly blurry as well.
