File to fit is required, and WAS EXPECTED when I purchased this mount. People should have done their research before doing this job so they knew what to expect. 30 minutes using care with a Dremel got it to fit so the retainer pin would slide in with a purposely VERY snug fit (to retain zero)...

SKS scope and Mount is worth the money

Turns a very good and reliable gun into a better gun. Easy to install with just a little filing required. Took maybe 10 minutes for everything but well worth it. Would absolutely recommend to anyone wanting a scope on ole reliable SKS.

Barska scope and SKS mount

For a company to sell a product, for a specific weapon, that is not compatible with said weapon, shows total disregard for their customers. I finally installed SKS mount, by using lubricant and a hammer(ridiculous). Now, due to inaccurate design, the bolt will NOT function.

A little work makes this well worth it

Yes it needed filed to get it to fit. Yes the hole for the pin did not line up and had to be re drilled. But it only took me an hour and it fits very tightly. The optics are great for this rifle. I'm very pleased with this purchase.

Poor Quality

Not recommended. As published this required about 4-5 hours of constant filing to get the right fit. Then after 7 shots the front mounting bracket became loose. The scope needs to be removed to re-tighten. The screw was tightned to its max, and again became loose after several more shots. Cheap design and an unuseable product.
Pros: The optics are good, right size for an SKS
Cons: Alot of filing and fitting required, cheap design

Scope Fine - Mount Requires Work

Scope is nicer than expected. Purchase was based on the value of scope, mount and rings. The only letdown was the mount which required a significant amount of filing to get it to fit a Norinco (Chinese) SKS. Metal had to be removed from both the inside of the mount - to allow the bolt to cycle - as well as the outside to get it to fit. All in all, its still a decent deal.

Cons: Poor fit of SKS mount

Don't waste your money

After way too much gunsmithing, the P.O.S finally fits, and only now do I realize that the holes for the scope rail are way off center. Yes, you can adjust the scope, but you have to start pretty darn straight. This product is unsafe and very poorly made.

Cons: Provided SKS rear housing is useless

Barska 4x32 Contour Riflescope with SKS Mount

The 4x scope is perfect for my SKS. The issue is the poor tooling on the mount itself. The hole for the pin was incorrectly drilled. I compared the original to the new and the new hole was off center. This made things very difficult to install. I was forced to remove material from the front portion inorder to slide the entire plate forward enough for the pin to fit through. There was too much material in the front so integrity of the piece was not lessened. Things are a little tight still but the rifle functions flawlessly. I suggest to buy a better quality mount such as UTG. It is worth the extra couple dollars to alleviate a big headache.

Barska Contour

I bought this scope for my .22 because of its low price, but was disapointed when I found out that the eye relief was way too short, and it didn't adjust far enough on my bolt action rifle since it was compact.
Pros: inexpensive
Cons: bad eye relief
