This is the best scope I have found for hog hunting. At night if you use lights over your feeder the 50 mm front lens gathers so much light it is easy to identify your game. The small cross hairs in the middle are very easy to see at night and it doesn't turned the inside of the scope red, it stays very clear on all power levels. The 3x12 gives you a power level for any situation you may need. I use the scope on my 7.62x39 and one on my 30-06 with great success.
Pros:
- The price for the quality
Best Used for:
- Hunting late evening or night

I purchased this scope and ended up putting it on a very nice FN 22-250 that really deserved an expensive scope. No problems though. Within 10 minutes, I made the adjustments and was sighted in for 100 yards. I had set out some clay pigeon targets because they are bright and fun to shoot. At about 110 yards, I hit the center on the top of the clay pigeon right in the center, the ring about 2 inches across. Good scope on an outstanding rifle. Seemed like it was too easy.
Pros:
- Good performance, not expensive, easy install.
Cons:
- If it's not Nightforce or Swarovski, the gun snobs will point and laugh.
Best Used for:
- Having something to put on a new rifle without sights.

Ths Barska Huntmaster scope is an excellent buy. One can buy more expensive scopes, but for my use this scope represents a balance between cost and utilization. It provides all the magnification I can use and the illuminated reticle is more helpful than I expected. I have purchased a second one and will consider anothe if I need another scope. I have a number of rifles and can afford to equipment more of them with this moderately priced scope.

I like the field of view and the visibility at dusk and dawn were very good. I had a little difficulty sighting it in, however the group i was shooting was within a two inch radius at 50 yards. I need to have it bore sighted I've been told.
Pros: Allows good vision at dawn and dusk

Like the scope for the features (variable power, I.R.). Have it mounted on a S&W M&P 15-22. All the scope this little rifle needs.
Pros: Good all around scope for general use. Like the I.R. for low-light conditions.
Cons: Don't know if thy're all like this, but the battery cap was on so tight it took rubber jawed pliers to get it loosened.

Lotta scope for the money. My first scope with IR. It does help in low light situations for sure, but I haven't actually needed that feature yet. As a regular daylight-use riflescope, it really shines. Can you tell I really like it? I do.
