Nice optics, subpar focuser - Barska Magnus 390x65ED Glass Refractor Spotting Scope

Very nice price and quality triplet ED optics. I was hoping to use for wide field/ rich field astrophotography, but I can't recommend this scope for anything but visual due to a subpar 1.25" focuser. There is no field flattener available for a 1.25" focuser, so there's no way to correct for field curvature. That is, unless one would replace the focuser.
To attach a finder, one will need to purchase a 70mm ring like I did (or use another method).
To mount it to an German Equatorial mount, I purchased a cg5 compatible rail. The scope is mounted using one 1/4 20 thread screw. This is barely adequate but it works. So, the spotting scope style foot is not what one would want for astronomy.
