I liked it in my AR10 so much I picked one up for my AR15. The enlarged faces make it much easier to operate the bolt than the milspec versions. The face that contacts the magazine follower is slightly larger than the milspec version which actually helped me correct some last round bolt hold open ...

Most Helpful Negative Review No detent or spring
I ordered two of these because I'm finishing a couple stripped lowers. They did not come with detents or springs so now I gotta find a local gun shop that hopefully sells just the detents and springs. Kinda disappointing that they couldn't even include a couple tiny parts that probably cost a dime.

My Favorite Bolt Catch

This is a good-looking and functional bolt catch. Easy to install and works as designed. Give your AR a new look by using the matching mag-release and safety lever by Battle Arms Development (BAD).
Pros:
  • Nice finish
  • well designed
  • Serrations give a nice tactile feel
Cons:
  • Does not come with spring, detent and roll pin

Would not pivot enough to catch bolt

I wanted to like this bolt catch, but it wouldn't work for me. The area under the curve was not notched like a mil spec bolt catch and this was not allowing it to move up enough to catch the bolt. Otherwise, the fit and finish was great.

Second one for my builds

These are nice - not too bulky and not too small! Great machining ! Now: I know this supposed to be about the stop/catch but Optics planet lives up to their name in good pricing, availability has gotten a lot better but getting the items out of their doors and to the shipping/ mailing services takes forever Most of the time. Sure they will send you a tracking number but it means Nada if it takes three or 4 days to get it out.

Pretty light weight, looks great and feel smooth. Doesn't have that much play which is great. The angle and placement of the bolt catch makes it really easy to operate. Buy this!
