Matt S.'s Review of Beamshot Night Stalker IR Laser Illuminator

Beamshot’s IR Laser Illuminator is exactly that – an Infra-Red Laser that illuminates night vision devices. Each model number references its divergence angle. The smaller the divergence angel the farther out it brightly shines. A picatinny rail mount is supplied with the light with an easy to use thumb screw.

With Digital Night Vision devices, the X15 and the X30 are very similar and I would feel comfortable shooting up to 100, possibly 150 yards. The T30 is an LED IR Illuminator and not as powerful as the X series but excellent for close range. Using these IR Illuminators with Traditional Night Vision devices is where these lights are the most powerful. When viewing through a PVS-14, the X30 was a bright beam out to 200 yards. The X30 was bright and powerful out to 300 yards.

Overall these IR Illuminators are good for hunting with NV riflescopes rifles. They are small and very lightweight. Perfect for hunting since most night hunting is under 100 yards. No one should really be shooting in the dark farther than that anyway. Just bring extra CR123a batteries.

For night reconnaissance with Traditional Night Vision goggles or monocular these are the brightest beams you can get to see out to hundreds of yards. If you already have a night vison illuminator, I’d recommend the X15. Being so small and lightweight just throw it in your gear bag as a backup.
Pros:
  • Lightweight
  • small and compact
  • Rail Mount included
  • Very bright with traditional Night Vision Devices
Cons:
  • Battery Life (2 Hours)
  • Doesnt work well with Digital NV (100yd max performance)
Best Used for:
  • hunting at night
  • Traditional Night Vision Devices
  • Sub 100yds with Digital NV
  • IR Illumination
