3rd BCA upper that arrived with bolt jammed
Very poor workmanship and no quality control. Could not get the bolt to move out of battery. It was stuck hard. I tried tapping with wooden dowel and mallet, but it wouldn't budge. Last ditch effort was to put it on a lower and mortar it. Took three very hard tries before it finally moved out of battery.
There were metal shavings all in the chamber and BCG. One god looked like steel wool where it had accumulated during machining. There were sharp burs on the chamber lugs, as well as the bolt lugs. I tore it down all the way, even removing the barrel extension from the barrel. It appeared to have been assembled by a drunk monkey.
I took several days to bedur and polish all the applicable components before reassembly. The head spacing was No-Go, so had to fix that. The chamber overlapped the feed ramps, so had to install barrel shims.
After all the hours I spent gunsmithing this brand new upper that should've worked right out of the box, I can say that it is no longer truly a BCA product. I say this because now mine works flawlessly and smooth. BCA products do not.
This was definitely the last BCA purchase I'll make, unless I start teaching gunsmithing classes and need horrible, faulty, low quality products to use as examples of what NOT to do.

It’s worth $200 but not $300
The fit and finish on this upper isn’t great and only runs good when it’s dripping with oil. I got it on a crazy good sale for $200 and it’s probably worth that but not worth regular price. I’d doesn’t work flawlessly and isn’t super accurate but it works when freshly cleaned and oiled and for that price it’s hard to complain about that.
Pros:
- Cheap
Cons:
- fit and finish
- malfunctions
Best Used for:
- mag dumping into trash
