This is a very good fit for purpose pump

I have read many mixed reviews about this pump. It seems that the biggest complaint is a failure only after a few refill cycles. I had mine fail only after three uses BUT, read the rest of this story. After researching the web and YouTube, I completely disassembled the pump. Every O-Ring was perfect. It didn't have the upgraded white, polyurethane back-up ring on the high pressure discharge side, so I called Sun Optics in Texas and happened to catch the inventor in the office. He supplied a complete O-ring replacement kit and I purchased three more just in case!. He explained that the pump should be reassembled with a high temp compatible oil like Mobil 1, rather than a silicon (or other) grease. I followed his instructions and the pump operated effortlessly...but it wouldn't pump up my PCP air rifle! One more call and his question, did you check the O-ring at the Foster fitting that connects the pump to the air gun itself?? What O-ring?? I looked and found it dislodged out of its groove. REALLY?!!!????

Replaced, and the pump operated per spec. So, a couple of tips here, (1) Use the proper high-wear rated O-rings and don't blame the pump first! (2) Pump per the instructions! Pull the handle up at a reasonable rate (allows the air to travel to the first stage) to full stop. Push down at a reasonable rate (allows the air to travel to the second stage).
