Great Jacket
Great jacket. Warm without being bulky. The sizing is on the large side. I am a 44 and the large is almost too big. It has been water resistant but I can't vouch for a downpour yet. It is definitely a cooler weather jacket; the outer material is not as breathable as the newer membrane-type fabrics. The waxed cotton gives it a classic look though.
Pros:
- Sturdy
- Warmth
- water repellant
Cons:
- None
Would recommend: Yes

Meh - It's ok
I had high hopes for this jacket based upon the other reviews. In my experience, it's ok, not great.
Some things I liked: The jacket is actually nicer looking than in the photos here. If you go to the Beretta site, they have some good representative samples. I like the waxed cotton smell. Yes, it does have a scent. Unfortunately, my wife thinks that it smells like stinkbugs and has asked me to air it out in the garage. It's warm enough to be comfortable in about 45 degree weather, but I use a sweat jacket underneath when it's colder.
Things I didn't like: This is essentially an unlined jacket. The fabric on the inside is extremely thin, leaving the jacket with a very plastic feel that leaves me sweating when moving around. The front hand warmer pockets are a bit too shallow. These pockets have a very annoying strap inside of each, the purpose of which is to hold the lower front pocket open. Not sure why someone felt that this was a feature, as I don't see the utility. The straps keep coming out of the pocket and end up getting in the way.
If you go the the Beretta site, it indicates that these straps are removable. They are stitched in place, so the only way I can see to remove them is to cut them off. In this sense, I suppose the sleeves are removable as well.
The Beretta site also mentions that there are security pockets on the inside. There is no such thing. There are large velcro-closure netting pockets behind the large front pockets, but no other inter...
