Most Helpful Positive Review GT-14 Gen 2+ on rural off grid homestead
Okay, first off, to everyone reading this, this is a Photonis WHITE PHOSPHOR tube!! It doesn’t say it anywhere in the ad for some weird reason. But yes, this is WP tube, not tradition green phosphor screen. Each tube will that bviously be different, but here’s what I received: Photonis Gen 2+ White Phosphor tube with 60 resolution, 1:16 SNR, 960 FOM, 0.2 EBI and system gain 4402. This thing is AMAZINGLY clear. I used Gen 3 night vision as a cop in the 2000’s, and the resolution on this Gen 2+ is clearer than the Gen 3 I used then. Excellent option for NV

I tried the Armasight Spark, and while resolution was surprisingly good light gathering capability was not. This Bering model is much closer to a GEN3 unit, and when purchased on sale is unbeatable. The headgear is not particularly comfortable, and I will wind up purchasing a different mount for a Crye nightcap most likely, but in terms of performance the monocular is great. Resolution is excellent, it turns a partial moon in fairly rural conditions into high noon. I’m considering buying a second one to make a binocular mount if I could purchase it as a standalone without all of the additional accessories.

Bering Optics GT 14

I was looking for a night vision monocular to fit both my budget and my needs, the GT 14 fit the bill perfectly. The tube is clean with no defects. Keep in mind this is not a gen 3 tube but rather a gen 2 plus, but if you are on the fence about this do not worry you can still see clearly for 100 yards easy on a full moon or half moon with no extra IR illumination. all in all I am very happy with this purchase and look forward to my upcoming pig hunt with this. The only drawback I have experienced is the weight of the unit while mounted on my helmet. The units weight and the counter weights I added increase the weight of my helmet substantially.
