I got this scope because im going for an authentic reproduction using modern tech on my mosin. Looking through this glass i was honestly blown away with how clear it is. the spec sheet for this says it has an 82% light transmission and frankly that feels like a low ball number to my eye. in daylight it almost feels brighter when looking at well lit surfaces. At night i can tell it is a bit dimmer but only in the lowest of light conditions. Also worth noting is the reticle is great. It is not the cleanest reticle i've seen, there are some sections where i can see unevenness but the point is sharp and well tapered. This is almost twice as much as the firefield PU repro i looked at in a store not long ago and this Bering scope is easily much better for the money. You get vastly more quality for the extra $150. And thats just the scope, the mount is also vastly better than firefields cast aluminum base as this one is milled steel.

I chose to upgrade my Mosin Nagant rifle to a “Sniper” configuration. My research told me that Bering Optics make a quality scope and so they do. Clear glass and a quality mount. Snugs to the receiver perfectly. Yes, you do have to drill and tap some holes. It would be good if Bering included a tap and drill with the scope as an option. On the order hand, their sales staff was extremely helpful with advice on mounting. The. Scope cover is a nice touch.
