Great holster for Super Redhawk 7 1/2 bbl .454 Casull
Ruger Super Redhawk 7 1/2 bbl in .44 and .454 Casull are exact same frame size and weight, so I didn't listen when Bianchi cust. service said this holster wouldn't fit. Bought it for my Ruger .454, and it fits like a glove. Very stable and comfortable in cross draw or strong side carry. Best hols...

Bianchi 111 Cyclone Holster 12674
Ordered this for a Smith & Wesson model 617. If your firearm has a Target Hammer the thumb snap will not close. Nice & snug fit, so I think the chances of the gun falling out are slim.
Pros: Good construction
Cons: Thumb snap will not close
Bianchi Cyclone 111 Holster is made extremely well but useless when the Thumb-Snap won't hold.
I really wanted and needed this holster, but sorry I have been down that road before, hiking down a steep mountain, stepping on loose Shale rock, struggling not to fall, and I didn't, but the Thumb-Snap popped open, resulting in a severely scratched and beat up expensive pistol. It is possible Safariland just sent you a bad batch of holsters with loose fitting snaps, but calling Safariland was a dead end to nowhere. If they don't care, then I won't care. I like Optics Planet, but I ordered the holster to solve a problem, and not create a bigger one.
Pros:
- Seems to fit the new Colt.
Cons:
- Thumb-Snap is not secure.
Best Used for:
- I wouldn't use it as it is.
Would recommend: No
Bianchi 111 Cyclone Hip Holster
I highly recommend this holster. It is a well made holster. The leather is top quality. I like the dual feature of strong side and cross draw carry. The leather is thick and the stitching is precise and strong. The suede lining improves retention and further protects the finish. I searched other suppliers before settling on Optics Planet. Optics Planet offers the best price. The free shipping sealed the deal.
Pros:
- Quality and price
Cons:
- None
Best Used for:
- open carry in the woods hunting or protection from predators
Would recommend: Yes
Bianchi 111 Cyclone Hip Holster

Nice Leather
Really nice holster. Fit like a glove on my S&W 686, 6 inch barrel. The dual belt loops for either side or crossdraw allow me to utilize as needed for my carry purposes. I oiled and rubbed it to a darkened lustrous finish. An heirloom quality holster that with the right care and attention will last for decades. I look forward to the day I hand this down to my son, and then to his daughter.
Pros:
- High qaulity
- Fit & feel, appear to be well made, grippiness, and lightness
- adjustable carry options
Cons:
- non yet
Best Used for:
- what it is made for
Would recommend: Yes
can't seem to wear it out
Purchased my old friend in 1977. It is a little knocked up has some cuts and abrasions. This holster is cross draw only. the new one give an option to do either side. The Ruger series seem to be right at home with it. Started with Security Six. which is being replaced by GP100. Drops right in like it was home. Lots of hours on this one with more to come. May need to buy a new style just to have a backup some day it has to be retired but not for a while.

#5 Actually Fits the Ruger Security-Six
Always a big fan of the classic 111 Cyclone. Leather and a wheel gun...
After WAY too much research trying to find a quality leather holster for a newly acquired vintage Ruger Security-Six - 6", I stumbled across several old posts stating that the revolver would fit the same holster as a S&W K-Frame. I took a chance and the #5 was a slightly tight fit. Then I soaked it in warm water, wrapped the revolver in plastic food wrap, snapped it in the holster, massaged the leather to form fit it, and let it sit for 3-days to fully dry.
Now a GREAT fitting holster for my Security-Six.
As always, I polish with Brown shoe polish to give it a slightly deeper classy brown tone.

Wrong or mis-labled holster
Not really holster's fault. Model number is listed to fit Smith & Wesson 648 .22WMR revolver with a 6" barrel and full under lug. Holster I rec'd was shaped for a partial lug. I tried to get my revolver to fit, but no way with a full under lug. Kind of curious if clamshell had the wrong holster. I probably waited too long to return, but that's on me.
Pros:
- Bianchi 111 holsters are good holsters
Cons:
- Holster was wrong for my revolver
Would recommend: Yes
