Poor design - Birchwood Casey Steel Target Stand Adjustable

I already had a stand nearly identical to this one but from another manufacturer. The problem was that the slots for the 1x2 had tension bars welded to both sides. So I had to spend time shaving down the wood so it would fit into the slots. Since a 1x2 is actually .75 x 1.75, I had to shave down the slats so they were .75 x 1.5. Not a happy prospect whenever you need to replace the uprights. The only other review for this product suggested you could just drop a 1x2 into the slots. Not so. This product is almost identical to my earlier one. This time, however, I cut the welds and knocked out the tension bars. Doing that allows a 1x2 to drop neatly in place. For additional protection from wind, I also drilled a hole front to back and a hole in the 1x2 to slide in a bolt and wingnut to anchor it into the slot. The product itself is okay and as usual, shipping from Optic Planet was rapid but expect to do some work before you take this target stand to the range.
