Most Helpful Positive Review Law Enforcement
I am a Federal Law Enforcement Officer for the US Forest Service. I ordered these boots because I was tired of wearing boots that didnt cut it out in the field and Danner's are too heavy. Wow! These are the best SHOES I have ever put on my feet, period. They are like walking on pillows all day. ...

Most Helpful Negative Review Black Hawk Boots
I like these boots but the tread pattern is not aggressive enough for the work I do. I find myself sliding and slipping on rocky/mountain terrain. I would recommend these boots if you work area is flat lands or pavement. Pros: Comfort, easy to no break in period Cons: tread pattern

Love these boots

by Dan, from FL, United States Written on February 9, 2019
I love these boots. Only thing I can think of to say negative is they are a little heavy. These are durable boots, I have not broken a pair yet. I highly recommend them to anyone. .

Blackhawk Ops boot

by Justin, Verified Owner from TX, United States Written on March 1, 2018
Blackhawk might have changed from old style. I always worn these boots for work but now their new model runs larger. Couldn’t return since I wore them to work for a day. Just disappointed I didn’t get my size since I have order same boot for years.
Pros:
  • Comforatble
Cons:
  • Runs a little large
  • New model

I made a good selection

by Arizonan, from AZ, United States Written on February 28, 2018
I like everything about them. Tread on bottom is good for climbing. The material is flexible not stiff allowing maneuverability for your feet. Most important is there lightweight. Last thing you want is added weight on your feet. I made a good selection.

2 days / week

by walker, Verified Owner from NM, United States Written on February 15, 2018
being a blackhawk owner of several shirts, holsters, other firearms accessories, and boots, it pains me to write this review. the 2.5 star review is because after only wearing these boots 2 days out of the week for just over 8 hours per shift for 3 months (and approximately 8 miles of walking per shift), the sole has started to separate from the boot. (look at amazon reviews for pictures that are very similar to my issue.) according to blackhawk, this was a problem due to a manufacturer issue and blackhawk should be repairing/replacing them hopefully. its been about 3 weeks now. if it takes considerably longer, or they deny my claim, i will update this review as necessary.

the boots themselves are comfortable, and only took a minimal amount of time to break in (about 7 days). vibram soles are always a plus.
i never got to see if they were waterproof because there has been no snow or rain yet on my shifts.
the boots scuff fairly easily which is kind of disappointing.
the boots also seem to hold in heat/moisture making my feet overheat/sweat a little which seems to be a similar issue according to other reviews.

overall, these boots are ok. being from a small town with nowhere to try on multiple brands, and having owned other blackhawk boots with no issue, i decided to buy them. but for $160 and less than 3 months of wear, i might suggest another brand (or hopefully blackhawk and their manufacturer(s) took care of the issue(s)). or, make sure you have another pair ...

Solid Boot.

by RCS, from IL, United States Written on November 5, 2017
Light weight, well made, stiffer than my tan version. Thus far holding up well but only been a month in. Can stand all day and my feet don't hurt. One caveat, the ankle of this boot applied extreme pressure to the point of bruising while breaking in. Didn't have that problem with my tan pair of similar design but no big deal.
Pros:
  • Light weight, good ankle support, comfortable inserts.
Cons:
  • Poor ventilation
Best Used for:
  • General duty

I love these boots

by Bill, from MO, United States Written on January 3, 2017
I love these boots, I really do. They're comfortable, durable, great in the wet, and they have incredibly good traction.

That being said, I have sprained my ankle in them twice (well, second was a re-sprain of a still weak ankle.) I don't expect them to have the ankle support of a motorcycle racing boot, but I was hoping for a little more than a tennis shoe.

I still love them, and I'll but another pair when these ones are toast... I just wish I could stomp around uneven terrain more confidently.
Pros:
  • Durability
  • Comfortable
  • Weatherproof
Cons:
  • Poor support

Comfortable and rugged boots

by Tim, from MS, United States Written on May 13, 2016
This is my second pair of Blackhawk duty boots. I have had my first pair for over a year and have worn them quite a bit. They fit well and don't require a long break in period. I fully expect this pair to be the same and so far my expectations have been met. They give excellent support for my ankles and are comfortable for hours up on my feet. I also like the grip pattern on the bottom of these shoes. It is aggressive enough to give gret grip but doesn't pick up excessive rocks and debris.
Pros:
  • durable
  • comfortable,
  • Short break in period
Cons:
  • None.
Best Used for:
  • Any activity or life style

Maint. Tech.

by Robert Villanova, from CT, United States Written on December 10, 2015
These are my favourite boots. They are everything I need to keep my feet warm , dry , protected from injury. the composite safety toe is So much better than steel and the hole boot is so much lighter that most if not all other safety shoes. And these boots are Comfortable. I can wear them all day at work and my feet aren't sore. They are also a great hiking boot because of all the features such as being water proof and great traction with the mud free treads. And did I mention that they are light. Great! boots.

thanks for shipping them a quick as you did.

comfy right out of the box

by bruno, from UT, United States Written on October 27, 2014
Very comfortable and nice fit. Size runs true. Shoe laces could be a little longer if you like to run laces around the top of the boot before tying off. Boots stay cool even on warm days. Best attribute is the comfortable insole.
