An expensive trainer - BlackHawk Knoxx Axiom Ultra-Light Rifle Stock for Bolt-Action Rifles

I know I could have cut down my R700 stock to fit my grandson. I know I could then add back wood, done that before, or pads. I know this is not cheap.

I also know I started a 10 yr old with a 243 and this stock [or course he started first with BB, pellet, 22LR, 223]. Worked well for taming the tiny recoil. Noise is always more of an issue than kick, but once they think it hurts, well, bad habits. After I put this heavier stock on [not really ultra light] his attitude improved, thinking a cure was occurring, and the adj stock was AR type cool. Now, no stranger to practice, he shoots better.

Probably not enough energy in the 243 to even feel the recoil reduction. Maybe 10%. I intend to change out for a 308W and take the boy to Africa. I get my 243 back and the original 700 wood.

For this application, the stock has value. If you want to change out for the Axiom, there will be some getting used to the shape and feel. Accuracy is as good or better than when in the wood. Would be very useful for wet weather.
