The forend has different widths and is extended far back enough that utilizing in while holding the weapon tight in is possible. Its also beneficial for those with limited reach to use the action properly. It could look better but it functions extremely well. Itwont wrok with any side saddle shell holders.

The older versions would slip on an 870 easily like a stock part or a speedfeed. The newer initially wouldnt fit, I thought they sent me the wrong part at first. It was frustrating trying to slip it on like the older one or a speed feed. After a few e mails to Blackhawk I was advised that you need to use a mallet and tap it onto the action bars and tube assembly. Its very secure this way and functions well. I just wish the instructions stated that.
Pros: Comfortable to use, nice variation in grip surfaces
Cons: looks could be better-needs better instructions
