Installed on a Mossberg 500. It feels good. Easy install. Instructions were clear, although installation process was pretty apparent to me right out the package. Left OEM fore end cuz Knoxx fore end didn't have the picatinny rails I wanted. I run a vertical grip on my fore end so Knoxx lost points on that but the stock end is A1.
Pros:
- Adjustable
- easy installation
- Recoil absorption
- clear instructions

Upgraded the shotgun for the wife to handle turkey loads more comfortably and safely. Reduces recoil a little and the adjustable stock is nice to go from me to the wife without crazy pad changes.

Had low expectations of this product for the price. I was planning on disappointment and dang it, the thing was well built, felt solid, fit almost perfectly and adjusted to the lengths I needed. The butt pad looks softer than it is and I didn’t use the internal spring system at all. I’m glad the grip isn’t rubberized, but the foregrip should be!
Pros:
- Solid feel, easy isntall
- Solid feel and easy install. I am keeping mine
- Feels solid. Great adjustments. I will be keeping this on my 870 and happy
Cons:
- Butt pad could be a bit softer for T-shirt shootin. The spring loaded grip seemed like a cool idea, but I do not want my grip to trigger distance changing. So those I threw out.
- Spring system is lame and butt pad could be a bit softer for T-shirt weather
Best Used for:
- Plinking to tactical. It is solid.

Great item. Really dresses up your Mossberg 500. Fit was good, was easy to install. Be sure that your magazine tube is of the newer style, "one piece straight pipe w/ no compression rings" or this forend will not work. I can not speak of the durability or longevity of this item since I just recently purchased it. But I recommend if for fit / easy of installation, if you are familiar with field stripping a Mossberg 500 I recommend it.

The stock is well built and the attachment hardware is also of good quality. Everything fit up perfectly on my 870 express. Does it reduce recoil... yes. My best guess is it reduces felt recoil in the vicinity of 30 to 40 %. There are a couple of things to be noted. The face slap often mentioned by Generation II owners may have been reduced in Gen III but it is definitely not eliminated. The way the gun recoils seems weird and takes some getting used to. With a 28 inch vent rid barrel and normal cheek weld, your shooting eye is way to high to align the bead correctly. This does not have the same geometry of a factory stock. With a Carlson's 18 1/2 inch barrel with rifle sights, The sights do line up fairly well not requiring you to shift your cheek anchor spot on the stock. Overall, this is a good product but will definitely take practice to become proficient with.

I was putting down fence posts with a gas auger when it hit something and tore my right shoulder years ago. Shooting my 12 gauge, even recently with reduced recoil buckshot, was extremely painful. I was tempted to even get rid of my Maverick 88 with non pinned forearm. I used my wife's 20 gauge but missed the plethora of 12 gauge ammo compared to the 20 gauge. I saw this for sale on my military exchange website. Found it cheaper on Optics Planet. I put it together on my Maverick 88 and it shoots like the 20 gauge. I was so happy that I bought 12 gauge slugs, which before would of been out of the question with my shoulder. Where has this been all my life? Now to just worry about the ATF determining that a pistol grip and buffer tube somehow make a pump action shotgun more deadly.

My department used to use low recoil ammo and I got soft. Whe the switch was made to regular and magnum loads it hurt after a Ling day on the range.
With this new stock I don't even get bruised. No pain. I wish I had this Years ago.
My old surefire light foregrip does slap my finger a bit but thats it.
Pros:
- Easy instal
- No felt recoil

I PUT THIS ITEM ON MY SHOTGUN and wow what a difference, a lot less recoil! Optics Planet sold it at a VERY GOOD PRICE! You can go out shooting all day long and you won't have a sore shoulder! I used a case of NO. 7 1/2 birdshot loads so it didn't cost that much.

I’ve had blackhawk pistol grip for awhile now and just bought the buttstock version with the forend for hunting, now I have a matching forend! Unfortunately you can’t swap out just the buttstock to make a pistol grip, or vice versa, and what you see is what you get as far as the stock goes, but it’s a small price to pay for the amazing recoil reduction. Slugs are where it really shines, but there are two springs, and if you take the smaller spring out, birdshot is like shooting a .22lr. Like I said, amazing!
Pros:
- Massive recoil reduction at a respectable price

I swear by these on 870 builds. I've shot them with, and without, every without - bevomes a "with" quickly my favorite stock and grip combo. If you shoot buck or slugs etc. This is crucially worth the $$$ - just use a dab blue loctite.
