Most Helpful Positive Review Good value plate carrier.
Unlike another reviewer's experience, my 10x12 plates fit very well in both front and rear pockets. After a trial fitting, even my surprised wife exclaimed, "wow--these aren't bad to wear at all!" Our plates are curved with the shooters cut (top corners cut off). Similarly, the medium carrier w...

Most Helpful Negative Review Plate Carrier
Not what I expected from Blackhawk. The plate sleeves are different sizes for front and back. description stated with hold 10.5X13.5 plates. The front holds this sizes but the back was made for 9.5x11.5. Not what I wanted. Pros: Light weight, simply to use Cons: Back sleeve is smaller than front, wi...

Best low-profile carrier for the money.

by theChad, from TX, United States Written on April 10, 2018
I purchased this carrier to originally carry AR500 steel rifle plates 10x12. It is concealable under a button-down shirt, like a Columbia fishing shirt. Under a polo, tshirt, or anything form fitting, it will be obvious. I removed the shoulder pads for greater conceal-ability and I can wear the carrier comfortably for 4 hours. I recently switched the steel armor to soft armor (Hybrid) from AR500 and it fits well and is comfortable to wear and will conceal decently under a dark t-shirt. I'm 5'9, 191lbs, so your body type will affect printing of the carrier. I've bought 3 total. They aren't the high-speed stuff that I would buy for daily duty wear, but are great for occasional wear.
Pros:
  • Price
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • Plain clothes duty

Great Vest

by Alex, from WV, United States Written on May 18, 2016
Simple and to the point. Very impressed with it. Fits pistol and rifle rated plates very snugly without it shifting during movement. And it keeps everything low vis. Can't tell when you have it on under a shirt and light jacket. Does a great job when you throw a chest rig over it. It does not rub against the rig and get pushed up like some low vis vest do. Great product pick one up and get a set of plates and you will be pleased.
Pros:
  • Great for the money
Cons:
  • none... yet

Works as advertised

by CGreer, from TX, United States Written on April 3, 2016
Low Profile, well made, stores easily in a 3 day pack with plates installed so they are there when you need them, out of the way when you don't. If you need a way to always have basic rifle protection at hand, but want something that does not take up a lot of storage space in your vehicle like a typical plate carrier setup would, this is an excellent way to go.

PSD A-Stan

I wear body armor for up to 9 hours a day in a low profile environment in Afghanistan. This is perfect for what I wanted. About as minimalist as it gets. Seems pretty durable; good value for the $. Steel plates fit tight, I don't think ceramic will fit, too thick.
Pros: Light weight
