Great AR-15 Bipod

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from RI, United States Written on September 12, 2011
I am using this bipod with a Ruger 556 and it works great. There are many adjustments so it is very versatile. Some adjustments can be locked in a fixed position which is also useful. You probably won't find a more flexible bipod for you AR-15.
Pros: very versatile, many adjustments
Cons: none

Not as robust as I had hoped.

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from CA, United States Written on May 20, 2011
When I was looking for a bipod for my LR-308 build, I was hoping to get something along the lines of a GG&G 1125 model or an Atlas bipod. What I received is not as sturdy or easy-to-use as I had hoped for.

The Blackhawk bipod is very lightweight and easy to set up. However, it is not quick to put into operation, does not have positive clicks when raising/lowering the legs, and if you're not careful, the rifle can fall over onto its side when laying in the rest position.

This being my first non-Harris bipod purchase, maybe my expectations are off-base. Perhaps the other tactical bipods all exhibit the same characteristics that I have just described as negatives. If so, I stand corrected. However, as it is now, I am now looking for another bipod to replace the Blackhawk.
Pros: Very lightweight and easy to install.
Cons: Leg adjustments need clicks when raising and lowering. Not easy to adjust when in prone position.
