Most Helpful Positive Review You NEED this for a custom rifle and quality scope
I use this in conjuction with the Blackhawk Drag bag. I know it might be overkill, but when you pay over $2,000 for a custom rifle, and $1500 for quality optics, a little extra padding is cheap insurance. Pros: Nice padding Cons: Takes a little while to fit straps to scope

Black Hawk Scope Protector W/ Padded Crown Black

Great item. A must have if you don’t have a hard case. High quality item like you would expect from a Blackhawk product. I have tried several other manufacturers but they did not compare to the quality of this item . A+

Well made.

Good quality of construction. This has a stiff panel inside that provides most of the protection. It does it's job well, but if your in a real quick hurry, the buckles and straps just take a little extra time to undo, and a lot of motion to remove the muzzle protector. So, it's great lightweight protection for packing, or carrying around, but for hunting I'd remove it for sling-carry and use scope caps for the time savings...Seconds can count on the hunt.

Quality Scope & Muzzle Protector

by rj, from TN, United States Written on January 19, 2016
Like most Blackhawk Products, this one is well made. stiches look good and fit and finish is excellent. I particular like this product for the way it protects your key areas on the rifle, and allows easy handling of the rifle. I use this all the time to place a rifle(multiple rifles)in the vehicle for trips to the range. Will buy more when needed.

good product

by Legacy Reviewer, from WA, United States Written on June 29, 2013
This is a very versatile product, it will fit a carbine to a long barreled varmint rifle w/ a long barel. My only complaint is that it does not cover the actual bolt of my savage predator max rifle. Still a quality cover, great for moving to your varmint blind!
Pros: tough, durable, versatile
Cons: not quite long enough to wrap fully around the receiver

This is a good product not only for gun storage but also in the field while on the hunt, it protects the scope and crown from dirt and other things from entering barrel. It is easy and quick to remove and once setup easy to install.

Scope cover

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from PA, United States Written on June 29, 2009
I like the Blackhawk scope cover much better than the Eagle scope cover. The Blackhawk version has a useful carry handle compared to the lack of a carry handle on the Eagle unit.
Pros: Carry handle
Cons: N/A

Good Value

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from FL, United States Written on February 26, 2009
Oveerall a good deal. The crown protector is the best part. It covers the muzzle and front sights. It also has a buckle to attach it to the scope protector.
The scope protector is 18" long, and will not cover a 18" scope. However it is still functional. The straps allow you to secure the cover to the body of the rifle, and the carrying handle makes it easy to transport your rifle. I would recommend it, however, not so much if you have a scope that is 18" or longer.
Pros: Protects muzzle and front sights, clips to scope cover, very secure, carrying handle handy also.
Cons: Scope cover is 18" long, will not fully cover a 18" scope
Would recommend: Yes

Nice Gear

by Legacy Reviewer, from NC, United States Written on February 15, 2009
I like having something to protect both the crown and scope, and having them connected to each other is even better. I'm less likely to lose the crown protector that way. It was a slight pain getting the straps set up to hang onto the rifle tightly (the straps don't like to move, which is great for it when it's on, but horrible trying to get it fit - to make sure it holds well, I'll take the issues getting it set up with a grain of salt as protection of my gear is most important), but that's how most Blackhawk stuff is anyway. Once done, it's perfect. Just don't be in a hurry when you sit down to do it. Otherwise, it has done it's job well so far.
Pros: Protects many sizes of scopes
Cons: Slight pain to get fitted on correctly
