Does not fit 36
Got this, inside of the case measures 35" from end to end. Now factor for the width of your firearm required to close the case and fully zip it.
Bought this for a small carbine that isn't longer than 34.5" from end of barrel to end of stock. Could not close the zipper.

Perfect for S&W M&P Sport 15 2
This is a thick, double side padded case with plenty of room to carry outside: 4 30 round mags, a 7x8” pocket, a 15x8” velcro covered pocket and a sling. Pretty neat arrangement and seems very durable.

As usually good quality from Blackhawk. Pretty basic but plenty of magazine pouches , can fit up to 6 if needed. Room for pistol in very front Velcro pouch as well. Interior is adequately padded but not overdone. Room for rifle with optic

Good cheap bag
Works great for stowing/hauling my newest lightweight AR15 build. It even fits in the bag with the optic mounted. The carry handles and should strap seem sturdy enough to haul around a 5 lb AR + optic + 5 mags full of ammo. Great bag for the price.

Used for AR-15
Just a little shorter than I expected, but a great value and a very serviceable solution.
I use this for an AR-15 with a 16" barrel and an adjustable stock. It fits nicely if I collapse the stock to its shortest position.
If you have a 20" barrel or another solution for a stock, you will want a longer version of this case.

Great Bag; Lots of Storage
Was looking for a bag to hold my S&W 15 and this works perfectly. Holds my rifle as well as 8 Magpul Mags in the front pockets. Also has a larger pocket in the front that I can put my subcompact in. Great bag to take to the range. A great buy and fast shipping. Thanks Optics Planet.

Great Bang 4 Buck
The blackhawk sportster case fits my 16" barrel with collapsible stock perfectly. My gun has a vortex strike eagle scope on top and the gun fits nicely. I wouldn't say there is plenty of room for a larger scope, but the strike eagle fits snugly. Mags fit great in the holders and the material seems very durable. The only reason for dropping one star is due to the zipper closing when the zipper is closed. The single zipper does not completely protect the gun from the outside elements. When the zipper is zipped close, there is still a small space that you can easily slide your little finger through to the inside of the case. This space could allow dirt and dust to enter the inside of the case. This is not a huge deal to me because as I will only use the case to transport in a vehicle. If you plan hardcore extended outdoor trips, I would suggest another case.
