Most Helpful Positive Review Excellent albeit basic holster
The Blackhawk CQC holster is a great basic holster at a very good price. It has a smooth draw and is adjustable for tightness for better retention. Does not have the additional thumb strap retention or SERPA finger retention devices, but many prefer to keep those off for ease of use. I am currently ...

Most Helpful Negative Review "Sportster" Holster
I did not realize Blackhawk made this product when I made the purchase; I mistakenly thought I was ordering the SERPA holster. This thing is almost totally useless, and I cannot imagine that ANYONE would find value in it; put your weapon in it, and the first time you bend over, it goes to the ground...

Fits a Ruger Mark IV

by Keith Pinster, Verified Owner from OR, United States Written on April 9, 2024
I recently bought a Ruger Mark IV and added a reflex optical to it and have been searching for a holster for it. I saw a couple of YouTube videos that talked about one that is, of course, discontinued now. I saw this and thought I'd give it a try. I wouldn't say it's "perfect", but it's damned close. I've used both the paddle and belt-loop connectors and they both work great. The pistol is very secure so far. The only thing that is a little concerning is that the trigger isn't completely covered, but I can live with that.
Pros:
  • Fits the Ruger Mark IV with reflex sight
Cons:
  • Trigger isn't covered

Amazing price on a quality holster!

by Jay, Verified Owner from CO, United States Written on August 18, 2018
As an instructor, I have a couple classes that uses laser training pistols. I was pleased to get an awesome deal on these NON-SERPA holsters! The SERPA is my favorite holster hands down, but I don't want to provide the active retention to my students because the SERPA requires a lot of practice to draw safely. These fit the bill perfectly. With the paddle attached, any student can learn draw from holster whether standing or in a compromised position. My training pistols are modeled after the G17 and these offer very good retention. I've not had any trouble with pistols falling out.
Pros:
  • Price
  • Ease of use
  • Heavy Construction
  • Flexability
  • Quality , reputation
Cons:
  • None

Standard concealment holster

by CA Groupie, from CA, United States Written on August 12, 2018
I have many of these for a variety of weapons. Unlike one reviewer, I love them. Plus, I possess a Phillips head #2 screwdriver, which is the tool used to adjust the retention level. The standard concealment holster is "Level 1" which means friction only,
(adjustable) in this model. There is no button, no snap, no hood, no twist. Just friction, which can be adjusted to securely hold the weapon tightly (even upside down). Be sure to order the model for your weapon and it will work well, allowing fast draw and "positive" feeling re-holstering. These are inexpensive and durable, totally functional. If you prefer, or your use application requires level 2 or level 3, choose a different model.

Detective csanch

by csanch, Verified Owner from PA, United States Written on May 23, 2017
I use this holster on a daily basis and so far it has proven rugged. I am in and out of a the office, a car and at scenes throughout my shift. This holster's positive retention has kept my Glock secure. When I need to, the draw is also uncomplicated by buttons or levers as I draw from under a jacket or suit coat.

Great item, but be careful with fit for SR9C

by LJ, from VA, United States Written on February 22, 2017
Been very impressed with this holster so ordered one for a friend for her SR9C. Thought since they're pretty much the same gun except for the SR9C being smaller, it'd work, but the SR9C appears to have a slightly thicker slide that gets stuck before the retention can engage. I confirmed with Blackhawk and they're aware of this, but it's not immediately clear on most listings that the SR9 holster will not work for the SR9C. Just wanted to let any potential buyers know.

USE IN THE MATCHES I SHOOT

by BRITTANYMAN, Verified Owner from FL, United States Written on July 11, 2016
I own several Blackhawk accessories and the all work great. I bought this one to use with my Glock 19 MOS for one of the matches I shoot. I used the belt loop adapter. It holds the Glock securely when I am moving, and it offer easy access to the weapon.

Great Range Holster

by Tom, from SC, United States Written on April 13, 2016
Excellent inexpensive range holster. Durable and holds gun securely. Simple screw adjustment to make more or less snug.

My state does not allow open carry, but seems like it would work for that too.

For concealed carry this would take a bulky over garment to hide.

Unlike its first cousin Serpa, this DOES NOT not require any action with the trigger finger while drawing to "unlock" the gun. I see that as a safety bonus.

Can't beat the product for this price.

by DJ, from TX, United States Written on January 22, 2016
I have 4 of these holsters...one for each of my pistols. They are great for training since most training centers won't allow you to have the cousin, the "Serpa" by Blackhawk, but will allow these. It comes with the choice of beltloop attachment or the paddle.
Pros:
  • GREAT PRICE
  • Great Fit
  • Versitle, paddle or beltloop
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • Training/competition/open carry

Does the job.

by MC, from CA, United States Written on January 6, 2016
Simple and effective, good value, made in USA!
After adjusting, my Glock 19 "snaps" in and is very secure.
At first I installed the paddle but switched to the belt mount for a better feel and less movement during draw. I may modify/remove/smooth a portion of the external ledge around the opening that snags the pic rail slot during re-holstering - not a fault of the design, just a personal tweak.

Best paddle holster available

by John, from NC, United States Written on March 26, 2015
I bought the holster for my Ruger LC9s. I wanted a paddle holster for the convenience and was willing to accept some compromises. I was very pleasantly surprised at the quality, fit and comfort this holster provides. After using this holster for a few weeks now I can tell you there are no compromises in any way. Overall, this is the best paddle holster you can get.
Pros:
  • Quality
  • Fit
  • convenient
Cons:
  • not any

  • conceled carry
