Most Helpful Positive Review Great Assault Pack!
Would recommend this assault pack to anyone whether they are in the military or are a civilian who just needs a versatile and durable pack for everyday use. Searched for the past few years to find a reliable assault pack, and after making a few bad purchases I finally have found what I was looking for. Pros: Great top loading pack for easy dump in of gear. also doubles well as an everyday backpack with the smaller front pocket being great for holding pens and pencils. straps are easily adjustable and the back padding is comfortable Cons: The coyote tan color turned out darker than what is pict...

Excellent overall

by Legacy Reviewer, Written on July 17, 2012
Excellent pack. Used it for a couple of days of rifle shooting at long ranges and also for short hikes. Nice big central compartment. Pouches are logically organized. Hydration pack is very effective and easy to operate. Can be changed and filled without having to empty the bag. Shoulder straps are well padded but could be a better fit; I'm 6 feet tall and I think the overall length of the frame is too short for me. With the belt correctly fitted, the upper part of the shoulder straps is low on the back. The bag is still easy to carry even when fully loaded. Would buy again.
Pros: Size, Hydration pack
Cons: Shoulder straps

Excellent backpack

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner Written on April 19, 2012
The main advantage would probably be the modularity of this backpack: with removable sternum strap, belt, hydration bladder and it being full of MOLLE you can adapt it to everyday use or to 1-2 day hiking. Another advantage is a solid internal frame. Not a cheap one that you often see in smaller backpacks like this one. The frame is rigid and of good quality. The denier is solid and not of cheap quality.

As for the complaints there arent a lot. For the moment all I can think of is the lack of compression straps (even though you could probably manage to make homemade one quite easily)

All in all this is an excellent backpack, great look, modular, light, resistant, its pretty much everything an everyday pack/patrol pack should be.

Blackhawk Stingray review

by Legacy Reviewer, from WA, United States Written on February 26, 2012
This is an awesome pack that I think anybody would be happy with. It is well designed and has many great features. I bought it as an EDC bag and one that could be used as a BOB if I needed to as well. I bought it in black for the tactical ability while still having a common, low-key color that pretty much blends in in any situation. Only when you get up close can you see it's a tactically designed pack.

The Stingray delivers on many levels. It is extremely well made with the stitching being top quality, the lightweight ripstop fabric, thick and comfy back padding, a removable hard plastic back panel, comfortable straps and a padded removable waist belt.
The hydration system is awesome, completely removable with a zip you access on the padded back panel. When being used Blackhawk's 'bite me' valve is great to use when on the move and there's no danger of it dripping or leaking, you waste absolutely no time in drinking while you're walking/running. Don't like the rubbery taste of the valve but whatever, it's functionality is enough for me. To wash it you just push it and twist and it comes off, very simple. The hydration tube can be used on either side. It's quick access but could benefit from a rubber band or something to keep it closer to the strap, when you're running the tube could flap around a bit otherwise.

There is 32 liters of storage space besides the 3 liter hydration capacity which is good for what I need at least. It's enough to store basic essential kit ...

BlackHawk 100oz Stingray Cordura Hybrid

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from TN, United States Written on September 22, 2011
This pack is the best black hawk pack i have owned to date. This is my 3rd and as with the other 2 this pack is of the highest quality. It is a 3 day tactical bag and not a computer bag. I use this pack daily in my travels through the Democratic Republic of Congo. It is durable and has plenty of attachment points for accessories. The pack when packed full is comfortable to wear and is easy on your body when walking. I would recommend the Black Hawk 100oz Stingray Cordura Hybrid to anyone looking for a quality pack.
Pros: The pack is a light weight high quality tactical 3-day pack.
Cons: None

Great day pack

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from AE, United States Written on July 10, 2010
Have not evaluated hydration system. Bought for the bag. Light, tough, very well laid out, great conformal side pockets, rides high, top-loads, straps are modular (hip belt dismounts, and main straps have fastex disconnects). Only complaint I have is it should be about 10-15% larger. They quality of they suspension system would easily handle a bigger, heavier load making it a good 3-day bag.
Pros: Construction, ride, weight, durability, layout
Cons: none yet
