Voltmeter well worth the price

by Dave, Verified Owner from NV, United States Written on May 27, 2022
Blue Sea Systems 8028 DC Analog 2" Voltmeter, 8-16 volt. Installed in RV alongside DC Analog ammeter.
Only 1 criticism: LED illumination casts 2 shadows, requiring me to look and focus to ensure I'm reading the needle, not the shadows.
Rectifier-battery management intermittent problem prompted me to purchase and install.
Voltmeter has precise markings. Accurate readings; I checked it against a calibrated digital voltmeter.
2" is an appropriate, convenient size.
8-16 volts is the appropriate range for auto/RV/marine 12-volt systems. If it's charging above 14 1/2 volts, it's overcharging. (I found mine was charging to 16! No wonder I had to add water. New control unit maintains a precise 14 volts.) If your battery drops below 10 volts, maybe see about purchasing a new battery.
Bottom line, $53 is cheap compared to $120 battery.
Pros:
  • precision, accuracy, size, range, good value
Cons:
  • illumination shadow
Best Used for:
  • auto, marine, RV
