I've had mine aprox 12or 15 years,I use it with an video fluid head,tension adjusted so heavy scope/camera/binoculr cant drop down BANG against side of car, if you're careless. buy an extra handle for head. get it shortend to your needs as standard length is to long, if your cheap; get an wooden dowel cut to length, glue an rounded knob on the end & your golden!
