Accidental Cut Test - 1/8" into mild steel, yet to find impact point on sword blade
It's amazing well balanced for something not forged by a Japanese smith. just holding it in comparison to the "Authentic Made in Japan" Replica. I'm lucky enough to have the ceiling height to fully extend the katana vertically - so off I go w some kata and in a reverse grip spin cut, hit my roommate's steel bedframe, standing in the vertically folded storage config - rather hard. There I am freaking out about my blade's edge, spenging a good 5 mins looking for the nick. Finally giving up, I start examining the mild steel bedframe - to find a 1/8" (3,2mm) deep in it. Stll can't find the impact point on the sword. I'd say that was a fairly unintended, thus impartial test.

- Scabbard loosens quickly - needs more wax
Best Used for:
- Scaring people, dismemberment (your own if you don't know what you're doin)

Nice traditionally made Katana for bamboo display
I am liking the craftsmanship of this sword. It has a blade clay tempered hamon. The handle has real rayskin and the ito wrapped tightly. I haven't tested it for cutting, but looks good for display as a curio.
