Beautiful thumbhole stock upgrade - Boyds Hardwood Gunstocks Featherweight Thumbhole Savage Axis/Edge Detachable Box Mag Short Action Factory Barrel Channel Stock

This is a beautiful stock, purchased in Pepper color. Needed some sanding as the fit with the Savage Axis was too tight. Needed to remove material along the barrel channel to prevent contact. Also the bolt release mechanism did not operate properly as it was too tight in the stock. Overall a great upgrade to the synthetic stocks that come on most rifles these days. After a good bedding should help accuracy of the rifle.
